I Survived Sushi

I went to Kona Grill with my best friend Erin last night, ate sushi for the first time, and didn't die! I didn't get a single hive!!! (For those of you that are confused, I am extremely allergic to shell fish. I carry an epi-pen with me wherever I go.) I have always wanted to try sushi but I have always been a little scared and no one ever wanted to eat it with me when they found out there was a slight possibility I could have an allergic reaction if the sushi had been cross-contaminated with shellfish. However, Erin was more than happy to take on the challenge. Haha! Luckily we were at a nice restaurant and I made sure they cleaned off the preparing surface before they made each type of roll. They assured me they did, so I took a gamble and ate sushi. We had philadelphia rolls, spicy tuna rolls and yellowtail scallion rolls. I liked all three but the philadelphia were my favorite.

I have decided I am a sushi fan but can only eat it from really nice places. I don't want to test my luck. Well... not all that often anyway.

Wow! I didn't know about your allergy or the needle. I love sushi too! I am more than brave enough to eat it with you next time you feel an urge.

Yippie for bravery!!! Now WE can eat sushi- in moderation that is. The moderation is for both you and me, I mean I like sushi, but I don't want it too often either.
