PC or Mac?
My laptop is on its last leg and I am researching its replacement. All of my previous computers have been PCs but I am seriously considering getting a Mac. Congratulations Mac for winning me over with your ingenious advertising. I bought into the cool factor. Shameful but true.
Everyone always says how much they love their Macs, but I have never minded my PC. Are Macs really that great? Are they worth the extra money? Is it hard to go from a PC to a Mac? Does anyone actually prefer a PC? Input would be much appreciated.
I am looking into a MacBook but am still in the preliminary stages and could be swayed.

OH - I heart my Mac! I switched over a few years ago and haven't looked back. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but to me, it's been totally worth it!
You will never regret getting a Mac. It was a purchase that I would never justify for myself, as I just don't normally make THAT large of purchases for moi, so husband bought it for me before we were married. He got a Macbook Pro and he used it solely for his home computer, and then began using it heavily for work. That computer has been all over the states, to the home and back and loaded upon loaded with pictures, maps, files etc and in over 3 years it has never had ONE problem. Never taken in, never one single thing. It is SO reliable. And that is just one reason it's worth the money!!!
So, he got me a Macbook and I will never, ever return to a PC. I never understood what people meant when they said that before, but I promise I understand now. It's different to learn but it makes so much more sense, it's versatile, user friendly and they will last FOREVER.
And it's great because so many programs are MAC compatible now its not near the fiasco and PITA it used to be.
You won't regret it, promise!
I love the Mac! Small learning curve but really not bad once you learn a few little tricks. I use a PC at work and have no problem switching back to Mac at home. I like Mac MUCH better!!
I think I'm switching too before I go to Egypt! I just hear too much good stuff about Mac!
Yep - a mac! Like Sarah says, there is a learning curve, but Macs are not just cool. They also avoid viruses and spyware, they don't crash, they stay fast for much longer then PCs do... etc.
They are so expensive though! I guess you get what you pay for.
Mac. For sure. I'm not biased or anything (since I used to work for Apple and my mom works for Apple). I got a new MacBook for my birthday a couple of months ago and I love it.
And no, it's not hard to go from a PC to a Mac. I've had both, but I find Macs MUCH easier.
