Quicken

This week I solidified my nerdiness when I created my very first budget in Quicken. I always keep track of my finances and know about what I spend where, but now... I am proudly budgeting for the first time ever. Now tons of people budget... there is nothing nerdy about that... But I get immense joy out of making my budget and sticking to it. I had so much fun tracking my purchases over the last 3 months and it turns out I was not spending as much money on food as I thought... I spend a disgusting amount on food... but it was less than I was afraid of.

With my new found budget comes a few changes... I am eating out less and cooking more. Better for my health and better for my pocket book. For those of you that are really close to me, that means free food every once in a while. WooHoo!! I figure since I have an amazing kitchen now... I should use it!!! I am also increasing the amount I put towards my loans every month. Which also brings me great joy! :) I still have a long way to go before I am done paying them off, but each month brings me closer. And lastly, I am adding something to my budget that has never been there before... I am going to start getting a massage a month. Pricey... I know... But I have weighed the pros and cons and lets just say the pros have it. So I will be a pampered nerd from now on... Get excited! :)
