28 Things Before I Turned 28
In my tradition of blogging noteworthy events from the last year on my birthday, I give you my 28 things:
1. Visited DC for real this time. Not a driving tour, but a walking tour!
2. Experienced Tess’s life in Baltimore firsthand and her crazy parallel parking skills.
3. Sat second chair in my first trial.
4. Won my first trial.
5. Paid off my first year of law school!
6. Visited the Dominican Republic with my family.
7. Drove a speed boat and managed not to kill myself or my brother.
8. Drove a 4-wheeler.
9. Went swimming in a cave.
10. Graduated from Equipped Disciple 2.
11. Visited San Francisco with my wonderful friend Alex.
12. Drove down Lombard street.
13. Drank wine in Napa Valley.
14. Took a tour of Alcatraz.
15. Experienced Trader Joes for the first time (can’t wait until you open in Dallas!)
16. Ate pecan pie for the first time… and second… and third… (amazing!)
17. Walked through life with 12 wonderful 8th grade girls and an encouraging co-leader.
18. Learned I dress like my girls… or they dress like me (Sorry girls, but I had TOMS first).
19. Ran into a light pole with my car.
20. Watched (not the actual delivery room) my best friend become a mother. William Darwin, you are so loved!
21. Purchased life insurance (again… have to love adulthood… so much responsibility).
22. Got hooked on How I Met Your Mother.
23. Also got hooked on Parenthood (next year it may be Friday Night Lights, I hear it is awesome).
24. Experienced a week of snow days (and almost went crazy because of it).
25. Learned to drive on ice/snow (to ward off aforementioned craziness).
26. Learned how to bread and cook chicken.
27. Tried (and liked) gumbo (chicken and sausage).
28. Discovered hummus was one of the best foods on earth (and learned how to make it).
