Weekend in H-town

This week I worked Monday-Wednesday and then headed to Houston on Thursday morning to spend some quality time with a few friends and my family. I got into the Woodlands around 2:30 and spent the afternoon with Jacki and the kids. Thursday night was free play at their gymnastics studio and the kids were both so excited to show me their stuff. They jumped on the trampoline, jumped in the ball pit, swung on the rings and played with the parachute. I have missed spending time with them so much. I was shocked by how much Jacob has grown. He is a little man now.

The pit was their favorite part.

On Friday I headed to Laura's place to catch up. I had not seen her since her wedding and I had never seen her house so I was excited. We went to lunch and had a great time catching up. Thank you for inviting me over Laura. I can't wait to hear how this school year goes.

After lunch with Laura I headed to Jeff's for dinner and to scope out his new house. Like so many of my friends these days, Jeff recently took advantage of the $8,000 tax credit and became a first time home owner. We really are adults now, aren't we?! After dinner we went to Red River to get our boot scooting on. I have not been dancing since Mel's wedding and I have missed it so much. Thanks Jeff for giving me an excuse to dust off my boots.

On Saturday my brother and I went to Galveston with a few of his friends for some fun in the sun. I managed to face my fear of brown water and waded in to my shoulders. I had fun but Galveston is always a little bitter-sweet for me. It makes me want to go to Mexico or Hawaii. Maybe next year.

That night we had tickets to Phantom, one of my favorite musicals. I have not seen it in years. Going to see it was actually my brothers idea. He mentioned wanting more time with me and wanting to see the musical so he figured two birds with one stone. I was very impressed and honored that he thought of me. As I mentioned in my vacation post, we are getting much closer as we get older. It is nice.

On Sunday I got some sweet time with Amber and Annie. I always enjoy going to Houston but having lived there for three years it is always hard to go for just a few days. I always leave happy to have seen some very good friends but wishing I had more time to see others. For those of you I saw, I had fun! For those of you I didn't, I miss you. Until next time...
